CNC machining for aluminum and copper castings
A cast part often needs machining before it can be assembled. Jinpeng provides CNC machining alongside aluminum and copper casting services, with the supply scope and critical features reviewed against your drawings.
Features to identify on the drawing
Make it clear which cast surfaces remain as cast and which features need machining. The drawing should define how the finished part will be accepted.
- Assembly faces, mounting holes, threads and locating features.
- Datums, dimension tolerances and geometric tolerances where required.
- Surface roughness and any sealing or fit requirements.
- Edges, burr removal and appearance requirements after machining.
Rough casting or finished component?
Clarify whether the enquiry covers casting plus machining or machining of an existing blank. Suitability of an existing blank must be reviewed before the job is confirmed.
- Provide the casting material and available drawing or model.
- Identify machining allowance and the condition of the blank.
- State whether inspection records or material documents are required.
- List finishing, packaging and delivery requirements separately.
Quotation information for OEM buyers
The quotation review needs the part requirements and purchasing plan together. Requirements that are still open should be discussed before a price or schedule is agreed.
- Drawing revision, 3D model if available, material and critical dimensions.
- Sample quantity, batch quantity and expected repeat demand.
- Required inspection method or report format for critical features.
- Target date and delivery destination; confirm shipping terms during quotation.
Quality requirements and scope confirmation
The existing workflow includes first-piece confirmation, in-process checks and outgoing inspection. Specific tolerances, inspection equipment, certifications and acceptance standards must be confirmed for the individual project.
- Identify critical features before work begins.
- Agree the sample approval and inspection requirements.
- Confirm how casting, machining and finishing responsibilities are divided.
- Request confirmation of any mandatory standard before placing an order.
